Vacationing in WI

Thank you AP for shining the light on good old Wisconsin in this one!
3 days, 3 arrests for drunk driving Woman, 60, was vacationing in Wisconsin when arrested

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. - A 60-year-old Washington woman arrested for drunken driving three times in three days while vacationing in Wisconsin has been sentenced to a month in jail.
The woman was arrested first at 2 p.m. March 11, 2008. A deputy saw her try to drive out of a ditch, wearing only one shoe, and had a blood-alcohol level of 0.21, authorities said. The legal driving limit is .08.
Twenty-four hours later, the woman was arrested after her car got stuck in snow in a park campground that was closed for the winter. The woman told an officer she had had four or six cups of wine.
"I am still finishing up the box of wine in my car from yesterday," authorities reported she told the officer.
Authorities found a box of Black Fox wine in the car.
The woman spent 12 hours in jail. She was released and headed west, but was arrested a short time later after someone reported her driving "all over the road," according to a police report.
An officer found a partial bottle of wine in her car. She had a blood alcohol-level of 0.16.
Court records released Wednesday show the woman was sentenced last week to 30 days in jail and fined more than $3,000.

Ancient pot stash busted

Far out, man! The top vote-getter in the 2009 Weird Science Awards is the story about the 2,700-year-old marijuana stash. Archaeologists found the still-green plant material in a grave uncovered in China's Gobi Desert. They believe that the marijuana was buried along with an ancient shaman as a mark of high respect. And speaking of "high" ... lab tests showed that the once-potent pot had lost its psychoactive effect over the centuries.

I Robot? I Whorebot?

Where oh where did we go wrong to deserve this? Although kinda hot in that none biological way, this could be the begining of the end for what we consider a human/humane world.

Your tax dollars hard at work?

Ok so i have been readign today and found this great article written by a Rick Horowitz and it pretty much is the best written article i have read in a while. Here it is:

Dear Mr. President:
We are writing in reference to your recent comments about AIG, and in particular about bonuses being paid to AIG employees and executives. As members of AIG’s board of directors, we were troubled by your remarks—especially your use of the word “outrage” to describe those bonuses—and we write to urge you to reconsider your current stance.
AIG is a company with great pride in its reputation for honesty and integrity in all its dealings with clients large and small. While we appreciate the assistance the government has provided us in recent months, we don’t believe that providing that assistance gives you license to question the character of thousands of dedicated AIG employees.
We respectfully suggest that the overheated rhetoric you and members of your administration have been using lately does nothing to help our company regain its footing after its recent stumbles, and indeed, may make our recovery all the more difficult.
Let us suggest, Mr. President, that one man’s “outrage” is another man’s vacation home. And what some call “greed,” others recognize as the lubricant that turns the wheels of commerce.
As to the logic behind AIG’s bonuses, it’s really quite simple. If the company—or a particular division of the company—is doing well, we pay bonuses to recognize that excellent performance. If the company or a particular division is meeting, but not exceeding, expectations, we pay bonuses to demonstrate our continued confidence in those employees and to spur even better performance going forward.
And if the company or a particular division is imploding, we pay bonuses to ensure that the people who best understand the mess we’re in don’t leave us for more lucrative offers elsewhere at the very moment we most need them to stay on to get us out of the mess they created.
To summarize, then, we pay these bonuses under only three circumstances: when we’re doing well, when we’re doing badly, and when we’re somewhere in the middle.
And rather than boasting about their good fortune, the recipients of these bonuses rightly prefer to enjoy their extra millions in private, which is why we’ve declined to release their names. America is not about envy, Mr. President. We are better than that.
As for your stated intention to take whatever steps are necessary to somehow block these bonuses, we can assure you that you’d be wasting your time. We’ve had our lawyers go over the contracts with a microscope, and they’re done deals, no matter what the suits over at Treasury may be telling you.
Something else you ought to know, if you’re thinking of conditioning future assistance to AIG on our people “voluntarily” declining the bonuses: Ain’t gonna happen. AIG didn’t get to where it is today by turning down free money, and we’re not about to start.
You can try to squeeze us, you and your pretty-boy accountants with their government salaries, but we face more pressure before breakfast every morning than you guys can even dream of bringing. We’ll chew you up, and we’ll spit you out.
And one more thing: If we go down, we’re taking everyone down with us. That’s right—we’ll take it all down. We’re so deep into so many things, you knock us over, you’ll start a landslide. There won’t be a single brick standing anywhere in this country. The truth is, we’re too big to fail, and you’re too soft to change us.
So give it your best shot, OK? Go ahead—you’ll see who’s really running things.
Sincerely yours,

whats happening

So i guess this is for telling what the happenings going on around here are, well its busy as always need another couple hours in the day or maybe we need less sleep who knows.

Brandi has been making jewlery now for a few months (actually started for bridesmaids gifts last year) and we are going to see how well it can sell, some friends of ours run a renasaince faire every year and we are getting a booth to put her wares up for sale. If you are in the area at the end of may (third weekend i believe) I recommend stopping in to take a look at the faire in general it is a great time and you can take a step back for a while to try and feel what it was like in the 14-1500's. If you just want to browse her jewlery you can see it here : http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=2682686&albumId=2443116 , problems following the link go to myspace and look for Dan & Brandi then go to our pictures you can browse through there. If you see something you like or have an idea for something she does custom work also!

As far as me i have become much less creative, i am simply working and playing poker in my spare time. Right now I am in the midst of putting together a charity poker tournament for our local 4th of July fireworks display, due to the loss of the group that normally headed it up some friends of mine throught the Independant Order of Oddfellows are picking up the slack and I decided they could use a hand raising money, what better way than holding a texas hold-em tournament! I just orderd enough chips for 150 people and if i feel i will get more to show than that I will order more chips. Again if you are going to be in the area in the first two weeks of April let me know I can get you details!

At any rate thats what is keeping us busy for now.

i am going to close this one with a saying a good friend of mine used on the radio alot when he dj'd

TCOYAE

thats: take care of your self and eachother
